Electrical Energy — In the nineteenth century, there was another source of energy developed. This energy did not necessarily need the combustion of fuels, the electric generator, or dynamo. The generator converted the mechanical energy of a conductor moving in a magnetic field into electrical energy. The principle of using electromagnetic induction was applied.
The greatest advantage of electrical energy, or electric power, as it is now called, was that it can be transmitted over great distances easily, as a result, it is the most widely used form of energy in modern civilization. It is readily converted into light, heat, or through the electric motor, to mechanical energy, operating most of the automobiles today. The larger-scaled production of electrical energy was made possible by the invention of the turbine, which converts falling water or steam into a rotary motion needed to turn the rotor of a large generator.
Heat Energy — When the steam engine was invented, it converted the chemical energy of fuel into heat energy and the heat into mechanical energy. Providing another source of energy, the steam engine or the external combustion engine as it has been called, burns fuel outside the engine to create the steam used inside. Another combustion engine was also developed during the nineteenth century; it was called the internal combustion engine. This was done by combining a variety of fuel, depending on the type of internal combustion engine, which burned directly in the engine’s chamber to provide a source of mechanical energy.
Steam engines and internal combustion engines are different sources of power and were used for different forms of transportation such as the steamship and the railroad locomotive. The automobile was also among these devices as a means of transportation. They all depended on combustion of fuel to operate.
Before the nineteenth century, man used another sources of energy for transportation, these were domestic animals, horse, and dogs were used. Later, it was discovered that the wind could provide power for energy as well, so that was when windmills were built. It was then found that the windmill could produce an adequate amount of energy to create electricity. It’s safe, clean, and it is a renewable sources of energy, another way to preserve the planet’s resources and Earth4Energy can be used to instruct those who are interested, how to build their own source of energy. Building solar panels or a windmill generator to provide electricity, has proven to be very productive in preserving the Earth’s own energy source. There are benefits in preserving nature’s energy, in time the planet will be able to restore its own energy, and by going green, mankind can find other natural resources to create new means of energy to use, instead of slowly destroying the planet.
